Situated in the heart of Lunigiana in the north of Tuscany and perched on the edge of the small hamlet of Cotto, Casa Glyn has been restored to a very high standard whilst maintaining its rustic style and original features using local materials. This characterful Tuscan farmhouse has a wonderful south-facing terrace complete with working antique pizza oven, where one can relax under the pergola with a glass of wine as the sun sets over the verdant forested hills.

Casa Glyn is set in several acres of terraced garden where one can find many mature fruit trees and vines. The private pool and deck area command an outstanding, uninterrupted view across the valley and provide a sunbathing location, all day long. A private drive leads up to the parking area immediately below the house, screened and shaded by olive trees. Days may be spent here relaxing with a book by the pool or on the terrace and evenings dining al fresco are bliss!

With its fabulous kitchen, large dining room, sitting room with fireplace and open beams and its tasteful bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms, Casa Glyn is luxurious and comfortable in a truly Italian setting. The house is tiled throughout, providing a cool retreat from the Tuscan sun, whilst the owner’s interest in Moroccan and East African furnishings complements the traditional decoration and lends warmth and originality to an already characterful house.

The recently restored Cantina apartment - Il Nido - below the main house is stunning! With its own independent access and terrace onto the gardens and pool area, Il Nido is a magical hideaway and is an ideal addition to the main house for larger groups (an additional couple with a child or maybe grandparents), or equally for a couple wishing to explore the area and not requiring a large property. The large double bedroom has a fabulous tailor made bed (incorporating a memory foam mattress) and a large Moroccan style shower room with travertine washbasins and gorgeous emerald green Sardinian tiles. The spacious living room enjoys tasteful hand made cotto floor tiles and there is under floor heating throughout making Il Nido a fabulous destination out of the main season for couples wishing to walk and explore Lunigiana in the cooler months. Colours throughout are warm with a pleasing and slightly bohemian African feel. With a gorgeous kitchen area and views onto the garden, Il Nido at Casa Glyn is enchanting and stylish.

With easy access to the Cinque Terre and its fabulous seafood restaurants, the Appenine hills with their challenging walks and the cultural delights of Lucca only an hour away, Casa Glyn is a unique and stunning destination for both couples and families alike, throughout the year. Access is easy from Pisa or Genoa airports and a day trip to Florence is even possible!
